Cary Lipman was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.   Captain of Thomas Jefferson High School football squad, made the All New York City Team and was also voted one of the school’s Outstanding Athletes in his senior year.  Received a ¾ football scholarship to East Carolina College in Greenville, North Carolina but, his parents couldn’t afford to send him so he joined the Army and became a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Kentucky where he married his high school sweetheart and had two sons.

When he returned to New York, Cary worked at various jobs to support his family until he found his voice with a large financial and insurance firm in Newark, New Jersey.  After several years as a district manager he wanted his own business so he left the corporate world and built and opened his first 2200 sq ft laundromat in Bloomfield, New Jersey in December of 1984.  By the end of 1987 Cary had built and was operating three coin laundries in New Jersey, offering first class wash-dry- fold service, discount dry cleaning and self-service for his customers.

At the end of 1991 Cary had successfully sold his three businesses and continued as a full time consultant, conducting weekly profit seminars and helping clients build and operate stores throughout New York City and New Jersey.

In 1996, after relocating to Atlanta, Cary purchased and refurbished an existing coin laundromat in Dunwoody, Georgia.  Over the following three years he bought and re-tooled another established store and also designed and built two new ones.

Over the years Cary was a multi-store owner, operating four vended laundries.  After selling three of his stores he continued operating Splish Splash in Marietta, Georgia for over seventeen years until successfully selling the business in 2017.

Cary Lipman is a Coin Laundry Association member who has designed, built, refurbished, owned and operated seven laundromats over 34 years.   He is currently the proud father of two sons,  three daughters and five grand children.  He is a personal business consultant based in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in working with new investors in all phases of opening and operating vended laundries and also assisting established laundry owners in building wash-dry-fold profit centers in their stores.
